JEAN PIERRE MARNIQUET
Since 2009 Compagnia Del Vino distributes in Italy three different brands of Champagne whose production philosophies and different stories are kindred to our values: Champagne Jean Pierre Marniquet (r.m. in Venteuil), Champagne Pertois Moriset (r.m. in Epernay) and Champagne Pol Roger.
JEAN PIERRE MARNIQUET: great character from integrated winemaking
The story of the Maison Marniquet starts in 1929, when Pierre Coutelas -grandfather of Jean Pierre Marniquet- started to produce grapes for reknowed Maison unwilling to compromise on quality because of their large productions.
The decision to launch its own brand takes place years later, in 1974, when the young Pierre understood to be not only a talented winemaker but mostly one of the few privileged to own vineyards in one of the most suited areas for Champagne: a mainly limestone hill on the right side of the Marne valley, in Venteuil.
Right here, the Marne has carved a superb valley: the clay remains very present and the grapes ripe with great complexity for Champagne with strong personality.
Constantly straving for quality and respect for the land, Jean PierreMarniquet is a brand that naturally adopts integrated winemaking since 1999. The main goal is to limit the impact of winemaking on the environment.
Respecting strict specifications and observing the needs of each vine parcel, JPM adopts an eco-responsible attitude in the winegrowing whether it be vineyard treatments, waste disposal or vineyard ground cover.
