The Compagnia del Vino was founded in 1997 with the object of producing high-quality innovative wines for distribution under its own trade-marks. The Grillesino wine- producing firm was then set up and became part of the engrossing vinicultural reality of the Tuscan Maremma. The following year it commenced production of Morellino di Scansano D.o.c.g., Riserva and Ceccante I.G.T. di Toscana, all of which came from a single 11 hectare vineyard in Grancia in the Grosseto district.

The Compagnia del Vino later acquired a 20 hectare estate in one of the finest areas of the Magliano district of Toscana.

Here it set up a 15 hectare vineyard specializing in the clonal selection of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2004 a new wine-cellar based on state-or-the-art oenology methods will be built for vinification and aging in barriques. Another 17 hectare vineyard will be cultivated next to the wine-cellar and, for the time being, this will complete the firm's production.
