It is 1639 when Hans Ulrich Hugel settles in the picturesque town of Riquewihr and a little later , accepts a prestigious post at the Corporation of Winegrowers: the beginning of a relationship between a man and land which lasts to our day.From 1639 to the present, the Hugel family continually produces excellence in the world and their many generations have contributed to the success of the entire region, a wine-producing area of excellence.
Today, run by the thirteenth generation, Famille Hugel remains a family run business succeeding in maintaining its identity and independence in the name of quality. With a production of about 100,000 cases per year, and with 90% of sales in export to over 100 countries, the Hugelé name is synonymous with “Alsatian wines”.
